Your server in Star Wars: The Old Democracy determines who you can play with in the game – if yous're not on the same server as another player, you won't be able to play together. How to Selection a Server in SWTOR

Prepare to Transfer Checklist

There'due south a lot of things you need to consider when transferring servers. The advantages are keen if you are transferring to a more populated server and want more grouping content for your timezone, only you volition lose a few things.

WARNING: Before you transfer your grapheme brand sure to empty their mailbox and your GTN listings – they will exist deleted. When you transfer, you may lose any outfits you have saved, any strongholds you bought with credits volition have to accept their initial unlock price re-paid, your strongholds on your new server will be undecorated, items in your legacy bank will be left behind and you may lose your character name. Make certain yous too have room on your new server for your character.

If you want to transfer your legacy but not your main characters, you can create a throwaway grapheme on your onetime server, then transfer them to your new server. Your legacy will then exist on both servers.

What comes with yous when you transfer a character:

  • All the items you have equipped
  • All the items in your inventory
  • All the items in your personal banking company (greenish bank)
  • All your current legacy unlocks and achievements (a "copy" is made, and so both your new server and old server will have the same legacy unlocks, but they are divide copies and won't stay updated with any new achievements or updates you lot get)
  • Your stronghold unlocks (the additional rooms you lot have bought for your strongholds)
  • Your decorations (but they will not be "placed" in your strongholds on your new server)
  • Any stronghold you unlocked with cartel coins (strongholds initially unlocked with credits will take to exist re-unlocked for the same price)

What DOES Non come up with y'all when y'all transfer a character:

  • Your Grapheme name if information technology is already taken on your new server (you volition be forced to rename your character on the new server – you lot can now have a space in your graphic symbol name)
  • Outfits (be conscientious if you have outfits with expensive dyes or armor you no longer accept the original re-create of)
  • Mail service (it gets deleted)
  • GTN Items (they become deleted)
  • Currency in your Currency tab of your inventory (tokens)
  • Items in your legacy bank (put them in your inventory/cargo hold if yous desire to accept them)
  • Items in your Materials Bay (put them in your inventory/cargo hold if you desire to accept them)
  • Any items in your guild banking company, if you have one(put them in your inventory/cargo hold if y'all want to have them)
  • The way you decorated your stronghold (information technology will exist empty again, but you exercise not lose your decoration unlocks)
  • Any achievements or legacy unlocks you gain on your old server after you transfer will not copy over to your new server, and any new achievements or legacy unlocks you earn on your new server volition not copy over to your old server. They get copied, only they are not synced.

Transfer Tips

There'due south lots of affair you need to keep an eye out for when transferring. Here's a few more things to wait out for before you lot transfer.

Character Proper noun

The worst matter you might lose is your character name. If someone on your new server already owns your graphic symbol name, you volition be required to change your character name if you transfer.

The good news is you can at present likewise requite your graphic symbol a last name, and the name generator allows you lot to place upwardly to one infinite in your name, entirely separate from your legacy name.

If you accept a very rare or cherished name, you might want to reconsider transferring that specific character. The best manner to check and run across if your character name is taken on your new server is to log on to that server and brand a new level 1 character with that proper name. If it's bachelor, y'all tin and then delete that lvl 1 grapheme when you are set to transfer your character over.

Items and Banks

When transferring, make sure all the items you desire to bring with you to the new server are in your character's inventory or Light-green depository financial institution (your Cargo Agree). Anything in your character's yellow legacy bank, materials bay or purple society depository financial institution will non transfer with yous. Whatsoever mails yous have, or whatever items you have on the GTN will exist deleted, and then brand certain to empty those likewise.

Sadly, when you transfer characters, you may lose any outfits you created for your graphic symbol. So if y'all are considering transferring, brand sure to hold onto whatsoever pieces of armor y'all will want to re-stamp into your character's outfits.

Strongholds

If you take a stronghold that you initially purchased with CREDITS, y'all will demand to re-pay the initial unlock price. For example if you paid 2.5 million credits to unlock the Tatooine stronghold, you will need to re-pay this amount on your new server. Luckily, once it is re-unlocked, you will not need to re-pay for any additional rooms you unlocked – they will only be available to you after you re-unlock your stronghold. If you paid for your stronghold's initial unlock with cartel coins, you won't take to pay to re-unlock information technology. You do not need to pick up your decorations from your old server either – a re-create of every single decoration volition come with you to your new server. Unfortunately, your strongholds themselves will be empty and y'all volition have to re-decorate all your strongholds.

Transferring Legacy in SWTOR

When you transfer, you volition bring along everything attached to your legacy, including your legacy unlocks and achievements. A re-create will be fabricated on your new server, and if you have an existing legacy on that server your two legacies will be merged. If you'd rather commencement a new character on your new server rather than moving an old ane, merely don't want to lose your legacy unlocks, you can e'er make a level one character on your old server and transfer it to your new server and it will bring all your legacy unlocks along.

Transferring Guilds

If you're considering transferring your entire guild to a new server, the move is a lot more costly but the benefits of having a more populated server often nonetheless outweigh the costs.

A guild can not officially transfer – each character in the guild will need to transfer separately. Yous will as well not be able to bring your guild bank, guild stronghold, or guild flagship with yous – these will be left behind on your one-time server.

The items of your guild bank can come with you lot, but make certain to empty out the lodge bank before you transfer. Guilds will really demand to counterbalance the pros and cons of moving, which are stacked on top of the original character restrictions like the possibility of losing your character names – y'all could fifty-fifty lose your original guild name if you transfer servers and someone has already taken information technology, though this is rare. In this case, an annex might exist added to your guild name in the form of an @ symbol and your original server name – or at least some original server name, it might fifty-fifty be from a server that doesn't exist anymore. If you're willing to choose a new gild proper name, yous tin hands prepare this with a guild rename unlock from the dare market place.
